Trump Thinks About Appointing An AI Leader

Incoming President Donald Trump is thinking about creating a new position in the White House called an “AI czar,” according to a report from Axios.

If Trump decides to appoint someone to this role, that person would be responsible for overseeing how artificial intelligence (AI) is regulated by the government and how it is used in various federal agencies. One key point is that this AI czar wouldn’t need to get approval from the Senate. This means they could start working on the administration’s plans and objectives more quickly.

The idea of having an AI czar might also tie in with another position that the government is considering for managing cryptocurrency, which is often referred to as “crypto czar.” This new role would work alongside the AI officers that were created under an executive order by President Joe Biden. However, Trump has the option to remove those existing officers and manage AI issues in a more centralized way, meaning that everything would come from this one new AI czar instead.

As for who might be chosen for this AI czar position, no specific names have been mentioned yet. However, it’s expected that well-known figures, such as Elon Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla, and Vivek Ramaswamy, who co-leads an organization called DOGE, will have a significant say in making this choice.
