“Wigs and human hair are diabolical and bring bad luck,” says singer Natalie Okri.

British singer Natalie Okri has claimed that some human hair is offered as sacrifices to deities and unknown gods. She made this statement while discussing her decision to stop wearing wigs. According to her, in certain parts of Asia, women donate their hair at temples to purify themselves and to rid themselves of bad luck and poverty.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Natalie explained that much of this human hair is sold to large vendors. She cautioned that Black women purchasing these wigs might unknowingly be wearing someone else’s bad luck.

“There are three reasons why I stopped wearing wigs and human hair: some human hair is sacrificed to demons, deities, and other unknown gods. Many women in countries like those in Asia go to temples to sacrifice their hair, believing that their gods will purify and cleanse them. They offer their hair as a way to eliminate bad luck, poverty, and other burdens, allowing them to start anew.

“The temple workers then take this hair and sell it to the European market or to various large vendors like Ali Baba and Ali Express. We Black women often buy these hairs for hundreds of pounds.

“We are essentially wearing someone else’s bad luck on our heads. You may not believe in their gods, but as a Christian, this contradicts my beliefs, as we view them as demons and deities.”

Natalie Okri is a British singer who gained fame in 2009 after her performance on Britain’s Got Talent.
