Wizkid Sets Streaming Records with His New Single “Kese” on Spotify.
Afrobeats sensation Wizkid has achieved a new milestone with his latest single, “Kese,” which garnered over 1.5 million streams on Spotify within 24 hours of its release. This impressive accomplishment surpasses the previous record held by Davido’s “Awuke.”
“Kese,” a highlight from Wizkid’s recently released album “Morayo,” maintains the momentum established by his earlier single “Piece of My Heart,” a collaboration with American artist Brent Faiyaz. The latter also reached an impressive milestone, exceeding one million streams on Spotify on its debut day.
According to Chart Data, Wizkid dominates Nigeria’s music charts, holding the top two positions for the highest-streamed songs on their debut. “Kese” ranks first as the most-streamed, while “Piece of My Heart” follows closely in second place.
Adding to the Afrobeats momentum, Asake’s Grammy-nominated track “MMS” from his album “Lungu Boy,” featuring Wizkid, secured the third spot with 870,000 streams on its debut day.
Wizkid’s record-breaking accomplishments further cement his status as a global music icon and underscore the increasing influence of Afrobeats on the international stage.
